Unseen truth

Being a psychology student for more than 2 years, I realise there might be tremendous loads of problems which are encountered but are never solved or never can be. These problems are like being swept in to a huge carpet and even though there are bulges all over, people still ignore and walk on it. Perhaps, there will be no ideal in the society. Ideal will always remain as relative.

When many of us lives happily in our own personal comfort zones, we never realise that many are actually away from theirs. So sad that when our zones will never overlap, we ignore those beyond our world. These people are actually those who deserve most care and attention before they silently end their own lives.

We need engineers to build our buildings, doctors and nurses to aid us when we are sick, economists to help us forecast economics, accountants to audit the numbers which I will never understand, and many others white collars to build the society, polish it so that what's beneath remain unseen with our naked eyes.

Teen pregnancy, youth suicides, subtance abuse, school truancy, gang memberships, cyber bullying, aggression and others are problems which remain unsolved. These people too have lives. So much to do, but so few who can do.

We often easily shakes of from responsibility by stating that these problems arise due to their own choice. I often hear people saying, "aiya, they ownselve choose one mar... its their lives.. what can we do?" Do you know if these people have choice, or have the ability to choose, Im sure they will definitely not want to live like how they are right now. Sometimes, being in their position, the choice they made are already the best from all the worse.

Lack of education, lack of positive relationships, lack of interpersonal skills, lack of employment opportunities, lack of positive reinforements, lack of positive views, lack of encouragement... made them stuck in their own layer of societal strata. And people whom are above them, not only did not try to pull them up but continue to be on them, happily stepping above them and wish these people remain at the bottom so that they can remain at the top. Human selfishness.
