X'mas

What do you feel when you hear the sound of the jingle bells and christmas carols? What do you feel when you see the well decorated christmas trees, the red and green lights and deco in town? Gosh... I must say if you do not feel a pinch of harmony... you totally do not appreciate the meaning of this day!!

Okay.. I know you must be thinking Im mad! We are in the midst of preparation for exam.. and I am thinking of Christmas... Haha.. Was listening to some Xmas songs with Cy just now. The atmosphere was so nice. It reminds me of snow and the time when I was in HK disneyland. Well, Hk don't snow but they have this hourly fake snow in Decemeber in Disneyland. All the characters just come out and everyone dances and sings. WOw.... it was so happening. I miss holiday! :)

Nice nice nice. I wanna plan how am I gonna celebrate this year's Xmas. Looking forward for something is good right. It keeps us wanting to live happily and living our lives in a better and more meaningful way. :P

Life is not just about the strings of As (even though mine is.. LOL)

Anyway, went to collect exam goodie bag! Its like a free present from hall 13. :) Its really not bad given tat there are so many things inside. Maggi mee, snacks, vouchers, instant soup, magazines, highlighters, coffee... etc etc

And the best is KFC!!!

crab-by day~

Its really stressfull when I stared at the calendar today. Final is really approaching in less than 3 weeks! I have no idea how am I going to start preparing for it when all the lessons are still going on and I still have one more report which is still far from completion to submit. The worse part is the due date is on 13th Nov... on this day, I will have already done 2 final papers!!! *faint*

When I saw Ting's msn personal msg written "the suckiest time of the semester"... I agree fully!
No mood to even start studying.

Got too depressed. So, Cy and I went to satisfy his chilli crab craving. :) Its yummy but of course pricey...

This is really a huge sri lanka crab. its the smallest in that shop already. :P
Eat until damn tired. hahaha but its really nice, the gravy with deep fried man tou is super yummy. the flesh of this crab... *perfect* :)

look at this... as though the crab has molars.. LOL

Its weekend

Yes, after the long and tiring week, Cy and I hafta stay back in Hall to mug for the coming final which is now less than 3 weeks! *panic* I spent almost 10 hours on statistics. Read the lecture notes, did the review exercises, and typed the 25% report.Surprised that Im not intoxicated by it! LOL
After that, Cy and I went for a jog. I must say that I declare it as the run-of-the-year. We completed c route and although tiring, I felt refreshed~ Hehe... must do it again when we have time. Most likely next week ba. Its fun to jog at night, it kinda temporarily takes off all the stress and workload of my mind. :) The gulps of cold icy 100 plus was definitely the best part of all! :) Oh, for those of you who dunno how long c-route is, I can tell u its really long, about 3-4 km ba and not only the length lor... its about the slopes also!! gosh.. But jogging is better than studying.
And today, we are suppose to attend church but I think we kinda overslept. So, instead, we watched the live broadcast. haha.. keng huh~ hehe
anyway, its Deepavalli now. Happy Deepavalli ya and enjoy the holiday tmr~ Will try to look for some indian cuisine today for dinner. hehe

happy

As I mentioned, I am super annoyed by the rainy weather and I think the sky seems to hear all my rantz on it, so it decided to put a stop and shine for me. :) So, I happily walked to SRC with a peanut butter waffle on my hand. Hehe, I ate it even though I already had lunch with Aug, Qi and Stephie. So greedy! Can't stand myself. But anyway, it feels weird to swim alone without Jane or Cy along. :)

But in the end, I had a very nice and enjoyable swim. The water was clear and the goggles which Cy gave me as monthly present was so cool. LOL. Unlike my fogged-up and extremely scratched old one. *smilez* At my last lap (16th i think) I decided to be a little OCD by having no one swim around me so that I could enjoy the still cool water as I swim. So I waited until every else reach my side before I started my own lap. Everything was fine until this 'smart' guy dive into the middle of the pool and obstructed my calm swim. :P

Okiez after swimming, I bathed and jumped straight on my bed. Yay. I feel so much better after the nap. The entire week was like crazy. :)

*happy*

tired

I am terribly annoyed by the weather. It has been raining everyday and it rain for very long hours. The moist and humid air makes me feel quite uncomfortable. Sigh. I am such a sunny person, and I love to see the sun! :) That's why I miss Redang and the beach. Adding to that, the stupid weather makes me feel so angry. Basically, I need to be a 24/7 indoor person which I am not! I can't swim and jog!

Anyway, despite the heavy rain, I had to go for the final and last boys' home visit for this semester. Geez, I am a good volunteer right? Haha.... with my small umbrella, I walk to the home and almost slipped and fall! :P Anyway, the last session was quite fun. We played "sally died" game, the animal game and "bloop" The boys were quite funny and even requested extra time since its the last session. LOL

Well, got back statistic result today. I did fairly okay~ *happy* Next, will be completing the report and that's all for this semester. Oh, I just remember I have japanese oral and listening test coming up. :(

Final is really approaching soon! *stressed* I have no idea why each semester seems to be zooming pass quicker and quicker. Without realising, we are also almost approaching the end of year 2008.

p/s: counting down to Bangkok trip on 27 NOV.

Finally...

If you have read my previous posts, I mentioned that Cy and I wanted to visit Tioman Island. However, due to the monsoon, we changed our plan to Phuket & PhiPhi Island which was more expensive but quite fun as it will be our first time flying together. Yup, plans remain as plans despite how certain we were and how excited was I. Everything thing gone down the drain when the air tickets increase in price. So sucky!! Hours in front of the com, surveying the best hotel and all. Haizz.

Was so annoyed that I complained so much to Yammie online. LOL I was so so angry that I ate almost one tub of cookies & cream ice cream at 12 midnight!! :P

In the end, finally Cy and I are going BANGKOK. Well, its without the sea and snorkel, I guess it should quite fun ba. I will most likely shop for my CNY clothes and eat lots of thai food. :) I miss their authentic tomyam, mango pulut, ... :)

Everything is certained right now with all the confirmation of the flight and hotel sent in to our emails. *smiles*

We gonna pay $370 per person for flight and 3 night stay in Bangkok. :) That will be my entire tuition earnings. Happy that for the first time, I fund my own holiday trip. LOL Now, need to save for food and shopping there.

Wonder why there is an elephant? Its actually a coin box lar. Just not a pig, that's why can't say its a piggy bank. So, ele-bank? LOL anyway, Cy and I will put all our $1 coin everyday inside. Its getting heavier each day. Hopefully, by end of next month, ele-bank can fund our makan in Bangkok. According to Qi, $150 is enough to eat good food in Thailand.

I shall now stop day-dreaming about Bangkok. Shall start preparing for exam and since its final, its normal for stress to build up. So, pls do bear with me if I act quite strangely. I am weird, I know.. LOL

Unseen truth

Being a psychology student for more than 2 years, I realise there might be tremendous loads of problems which are encountered but are never solved or never can be. These problems are like being swept in to a huge carpet and even though there are bulges all over, people still ignore and walk on it. Perhaps, there will be no ideal in the society. Ideal will always remain as relative.

When many of us lives happily in our own personal comfort zones, we never realise that many are actually away from theirs. So sad that when our zones will never overlap, we ignore those beyond our world. These people are actually those who deserve most care and attention before they silently end their own lives.

We need engineers to build our buildings, doctors and nurses to aid us when we are sick, economists to help us forecast economics, accountants to audit the numbers which I will never understand, and many others white collars to build the society, polish it so that what's beneath remain unseen with our naked eyes.

Teen pregnancy, youth suicides, subtance abuse, school truancy, gang memberships, cyber bullying, aggression and others are problems which remain unsolved. These people too have lives. So much to do, but so few who can do.

We often easily shakes of from responsibility by stating that these problems arise due to their own choice. I often hear people saying, "aiya, they ownselve choose one mar... its their lives.. what can we do?" Do you know if these people have choice, or have the ability to choose, Im sure they will definitely not want to live like how they are right now. Sometimes, being in their position, the choice they made are already the best from all the worse.

Lack of education, lack of positive relationships, lack of interpersonal skills, lack of employment opportunities, lack of positive reinforements, lack of positive views, lack of encouragement... made them stuck in their own layer of societal strata. And people whom are above them, not only did not try to pull them up but continue to be on them, happily stepping above them and wish these people remain at the bottom so that they can remain at the top. Human selfishness.

Holiday...

Cy and I spent almost 2 hours plus searching on where we should go after final exam. And I am so so looking forward for the trip as we found the best deal. :P We are heading to Phuket and Phi Phi Island on 27th OCT. 3 days 2 night for only $350 including air tickets and accommodation.

We gonna fly from Changi. Its gonna be the first time flying with Cy. :) *excited* And, phi phi island is quite pretty, so I am gonna snorkel again! Haha..
Okie. Hopefully the day come faster. :)

p/s: Jane, i think can't go Batam with u le.. paiseh

frustrated

I am getting uncontrollable in eating. Had MacDonald foldover chicken up size meal for dinner! OMG, its been a while since I binged on fries.. Its one of my NO-NO food...

And then, when I swear to myself I am not going to eat anymore after dinner, I had supper at sheng siong. Hor fun!!! *faint*

SCREAMMM~

I need to exercise. I need to jog and swim and walk and stop eating... :(

Slacking...

Yesterday was such a slack day. My lesson ends at 11am as CS100 lecture was e-learning. *Happy* I hate long fridays. :) Cy and I went town in evening, ate dinner at Cine, played Wii and watched movie.

Can die right. Everyone is in the midst of deadlines and to-do-lists, yet we can go out for the entire night having fun. Haha Wii was fun but it started out quite frustrating. The remote keep running out of battery and when we realise half-an-hour is gone spent on changing the batteries and all, we got so frustrated. So, we complained and they gave us additional time. Haha... Next time, I shall get Wii when I start working. I think its really a good sports after eating. :P

We watched BURN AFTER READING. Its really an entertaining movie, as Brad Pitt was hilarious in it but you basically gain nothing from it other than plain laughter. Hmmm the plots revolves around one theme... FIDELITY. All the women and men in the movie except for poor innocent brad pitt are in some kind of affairs, and the conflicts get more and more amusing. Haizz... I dunno how to explain as its really crazy. But I think I will not advise you to watch, but if you have extra cash and time, you can though. LOL

Well, I am sure everyone in any relationship cares about faithfulness. Men dying to communicate their commitment and faithfulness to attract women, according to Evolutionary Psychology but we all know fidelity and extra marital affairs have been an established mistake in human history. Its really a big issue if we want to argue about this. Why would a man marry a woman he claims he loves and do things behind her back? Thrill? *sucks* Oh, bear in mind that if thou do unto us, we shall do unto thou. :P

Bored

Me, Qi, Carol and Brenda

Cy, Me, Qi, Carol, Brenda and Frank

Outside MacD at Kallang. :)

=============

I admit that i am bored. Currently, I am freezing in Library 2 with Cy fast asleep in front of me. Since I have my laptop with me, I just on it and started blog hopping. Just as I begin typing this, my last finger of my left hand is kinda numb. I hate the stupid air-cond. :P

Anyway, school has been really really saddening. Stat is driving me crazy. I have no idea when stat started to look so foreign. Really like reading a bunch of alienated signs and symbols. *sigh* Yes, I know I need to be patient. Hopefully, the symbols will slowly make their ways into my head.

Oh, just something more random to share. Just now, on my way to the toilet, I saw this super crazy and dotzzz couple. They were sharing a mp3, should be listening to some songs... then the girl suddenly took down her ear piece and started trying to fit it into the bf's nose.. I was extremely disgusted so stunned a while in front of them and look. Haha.. I think they were too engrossed in stucking the ear piece in the nose, they didnt notice my stunned look. :P

Alright. I need to go back to my notes.

Stressed

I wanted to sit down and blog properly about the past long but happening weekend. But I think I dun have time for that. Maybe next time. :)

Last Friday was Hall 13 night cycling. It was super tiring but of course once a life-time experience. We cycled in a group of 11, started from East Coast Park to Changi Village for the first makan stop. Tried Changi famous Nasi Lemak, and I think its much better that Power Boon Lay Nasi Lemak. Shared, rojak and roti john with Qi and Carol as well. :)

After Changi, we cycled to Tampines. After tampines, we cycled down the green MRT line, from kembangan, bedok, eunos, all the way to Kallang. The journey was a quite challenging for me as I used to cycle only in the park but this time, with all the slopes and narrow road, I think I bruise my butt for that.. :P Oh, need to stop jogging for a fews days too as my leg feels a lil painful. :)

The entire cycling trip started at about 9 plus and ended about 7 in the morning! Reached NTU at 8. OMG, super tiring. I quickly rush to bed to sleep after bathing.

Yes, you might thought I surely sleep until evening, but how nice if it was like that! Bleah.. Gotta wake up at 12pm, (only 3 hours of sleep) cause need to go for WSC Block E Family Day. The boys performed well, singing, sketch, and others.. But they are seriously damn funny!

They all dressed up quite nicely for the event. I think its the only day in each year that they are allowed to wear home clothes in the home. :) During the games that we are suppose to organise, it was quite messy. Haha...

After family day, I rushed to Bugis to meet Cy. Yep, that's when I had my first proper meal of that day. Had Bugis famous duck rice. Super yummy. Then I ate peanut rice ball from Ah chew dessert stall. This is when all the calorie burnt was wasted!!! Sucks... *angry with myself*

Reached home at 11. Had supper with sisters and dad. Arghhh... Again!! Ate a lot again. *Faint*

On Sunday, went for Dad's friend wedding. It was a Malay wedding though. So, I had briyani rice with yummy fried chicken. So long since I tasted real Malay food. :)

Oh, we visited the newly opened K-box at the Jetty. It was quite cheap and good. :) So, spent 3 hours singing with my mom and sis while my dad went to settle some of his work stuff.

At night, had dinner with uncles as one of my uncle strike a lot of money from 4-D. He is like super lucky... haha.. celebrated mom's birthday in conjunction with his treat.

Okie.. that's the summary of what happened during the weekend. When I came back to NTU today, I was in front of the come for hours, trying to edit my report and finally when I am done, I realise I have Japanese spelling tmr!!! *panic*

what am I doing...

There are lots of stuff in my mind. All of them got mixed and tangled up, so I ended up doing nothing because I have no idea where should I begin. *lost* Partly, my body is exhausted, which I have no idea why too as I had at least 6 hours of sleep each day. Its a sad truth that each semester, the small cup of coffee does not do its magic anymore, I need to depend on a bigger cup or another cup of caffein. Yes, I am a caffein-addict but I know I am not alone! :P

Mid term is finally over! The paper sucks! So, I don't wish to talk or elaborate more about it. I have this bad intuition that this semester, I will do badly. I hope by saying my thought out, will make it NOT come true! *cross all my fingers and toes* :)

Tomorrow, I am participating in night cycling. Despite the mental and physical exhaustion, I still going to cycle the whole night, ECP to Changi village, back to ECP, to Bedok, to esplanade then back to ECP. I think its about 50km and will take the entire night. I must be crazy when I think of it. Plus, the next day, I need to attend WSC Family Day at 1pm. After that, I am going home!!!

Hah! Feel like smacking myself. I have the 6 pages of report to edit yet, I loaded myself with so many things... great hur...:P

Lastly, just to be a lil random, I am eating alot these day. *help!* Anyone has a solution on self-control? *cry*

holiday~

Okie.. I know the previous post was a lil scary. Yammie thought that she was reading someone else blog instead of mine. Ya.. *julyn is always a nice and polite girl* :P

So, I shall blog for the sake of blogging now! Just had dinner with Qi and Yam at canteen 14. I declare that can A tori karaage is much better than can 14 one. :) *personal preference ya)

With the coming mid term for 307 on this thursday, its the end of the entire mid term spree already. After that, on next tuesday 14th feb, one report will be down. Then, we shall start on the last and final stat project. With that down too in weeks time, its final! In fact, I can't wait for it to come and be over. I have so many many fun plans waiting for me! :)

Can't believe that I am already thinking of holiday but its good to plan and anticipate the fun. If we fail to plan, we plan to fail right... LOL

Immediately after my exam on 20th Nov, I shall go home. After that, come back to NTU when Cy finishes his final paper on 27th Nov. We are leaving to Tioman on 28th Nov and be back by 30th as his internship starts on the 1st. :) I shall go Penang with sister on 2nd Dec. Oh, not forgetting the trip that I am going to plan for Manic to come my house again. :) Lastly, before the end of the happy december break, Cy and I are going to KL with WeeHock and Jen.

Yay... that's the plan... but see how it goes.. *cross fingers*

sucky

Dear Bitch,

I have no idea who on earth you are but definitely I am positively sure I did not address you wrongly. Its either you are really that poor until you have no more choice, you had to take my newly bought white blouse to cover your pathetic body. I sympathize but not emphatize you. But if you are that poor, why do you need to take the one which I like most! but not any other which I am sure was with it.

You have no idea how mad am I with you. I swear if I ever see you wearing my possession, I shall embarass you in public... you daughter of a bitch! (that's what make you one too).

Your hater.

I apologize for the vulgarities or abscenities above but which ever words that were used was for expression purposes.

A day out...

Went out to Bugis today. So happy that finally I managed to leave NTU temporarily. :) It has been quite boring in school. The daily routines are mainly going for lessons, study, eat, sleep, study somemore and jog + swimming.

Cy and I went to try vietnamese cuisine in Madam Saigon. Its really authentic when I first saw the shop. Had always wanted to try... finally we managed to~ The price was okay for a meal outside. About $20 per person.

Fried tau fu. Looks like smelly tou fu but its not smelly at all. LOL

This dish was the most fantastic! Its my main meal actually. Even though it looks plain, after adding the sauce that came with it, it was delicious. Its actually bee hoon, with lots of cucumber and lettuce at the bottom, accompanied by some slices of chickens and spring rolls. *Yummy* Its a must-try.

Next it Cy's sweet potatoes chicken curry with rice. Its special because its not cooked with normal potatoes but sweet potatoes. Special. I must recommend it to my maid. :)

Lastly, do you know that vietnamese cuisine is not complete with their spring rolls? They have fried one and non fried one. I assume the fried one is nicer cause people generally prefer fried food. :) But I just wanna try the original one. Without the sauce, the taste was quite weird. :)

Yep, that's the entire review of vietnamese cuisin in Madam Saigon. Its nice and worth going again when I crave for the must-try dish. Nevertheless, for that price we paid, I would still go for my favourite Jap food. LOL

After eating, we felt so bloated. So, walked around Bugis street. We cant possibly walk out with empty hand from Bugis. Bleah... Bought a belt and pants. :)

I shall stop slacking. 2 days of leave from books should be more than enough. Its time to start studying for my next quiz. :)

Lastly, if you wonder whether my "crazy craving" for sweet food improved, erm... not really. I just had Mr Bean this morning for breakfast, then 1 crispy chocolate after lunch!!! *help*

Friday, October 03, 2008

Yay...

Its weekend finally. It was such a hectic weeks with one presentation, 2 mid terms and a mini spelling test. :)

Stat mid term was so energy consuming. I ate apple pie + a cup of coffee before the paper. After that, I ate yong tau fu straight after it. Even though the paper was tough, I am impressed by how genious Ringo can be. The way he set his questions was way way way too superb. *blink blink* :)

After the mid term for comm studies, Manic had birthday celebration for HH. Happy Belated 21st Birthday HH. :) Pizza was yummy but we didn't get to order seafood and curry chicken because they are not in the choice for the student special. But 2 regular pan pizza, 4 soups and 4 drinks for only $27.90 is definitely cheap! Hehe...

No photos yet though. Need to wait for MM to upload them in facebook. :P

Wednesday, October 01, 2008

I should be feeling stress up due to the mid term for Stat which is tmr morning, one spelling test for Japanese on this coming Friday and a mid term quiz for Comm Studies straight after my Jap lesson. Hmmm... Its either I had manage to learn how to cope better with stress over the years in NTU or I am desensitized by it. :P

Anyway, I think I did improve slightly on my sweet-food-addiction illness.

I had

1) Waffle ice cream
2) Soya+carrot juice from Mr Bean
3) Some clorets

I should go brush my teeth now before I eat somemore. :P

*anyway, Cy is falling sick, its weird to see him so weak, as he is suppose to be always taking care of me... *
